I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey; in a family that believes food and laughter to be the best medicines. After my family’s move to Canada in 2007, I studied Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of Victoria. And in 2014, I started my Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine training at Pacific Rim College. I became pregnant in the last year of my studies, and our child was born a month before I graduated. I have always been fascinated by birth and becoming a mother only heightened my call to this work. As a doula, I draw from all the aspects of my background and education to offer a holistic approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I believe birth to be sacred, and my hope is to help life givers move through this transition with ease, while being informed, respected, and nourished.
