I am a daughter, sister, and cousin of Hong Kong migrants on Turtle Island (Canada), born in Tkaronto, Ontario, nurtured by my traditional language, medicines, and cultural practices within the diasporic community.
My birthwork grounds itself in community care and reconnecting with ancestral birthrights, stories, and foods. My approach is birther-centred, culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based.
My goal is to support your physical + mental + spiritual + emotional needs in a safe, nurturing, and culturally relevant way that feels good for you. I believe that you have all the tools within yourself to prepare for your labour and postpartum journey and I am here to help you gather those tools.
I am privileged to have built strong community ties over the years within Indigenous communities (Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, Manitoulin Island, Ontario) where I practiced as a Community Health Nurse. In 2018, I moved to Victoria, BC, to pursue my MSc in Social Dimensions of Health focusing on Indigenous youth leadership in sexual wellness. I also serve as a Public Health Nurse as well as Harm Reduction & Street Outreach Nurse in the Greater Victoria Area.
I am a proud auntie in the communities I have chosen as family, and I have supported these families with their pregnancies, births, and babies.
Other offerings: Chinese soups & medicines, body feeding support, sexual health education, spiritual support, meditation/mindfulness practices, workshop facilitation.
